Growing up one of my favorite things to eat was “Ants on A Log”. No, we’re not advising you take up an “all protein diet” by eating bugs. For those of you who are somewhat confused, ants on a log is merely celery with peanut butter and raisins on top.
If you are a parent whose kids are out of school for the summer and trying to keep there eating habits under control (which from being a nanny I know can prove to be a challenge) this snack is a great one! Not only would I never eat rasin any other time then on my peanut butter and celery, but they also high in some antioxidants!
Preparing this childhood staple of mine isnt very difficult either. You cut and wash your celeray slap on peanut butter or sunflower butter (if you’re feeling really healthy). I usually have between 4 and 5 rasins on top, but you can all live dangerously.
If you’re always on the go, you can take two tablespoons of peanut butter into a mason jar, cut a few pieces of celery and put them into the peanutbutter, sprinkle in some raisins. Scoop and go!
