During the spookiest weekend of the year, candy is king. But, that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing you can whip up for your family to enjoy! These healthier versions of Halloween favorites are fun for all ages + might even make you forget all about that candy!
Candy Corn Popsicles
Candy corn might not be your favorite treat, but no one can deny it’s a Halloween classic! Upgrade your candy corn with this healthier spin which includes yogurt + fresh juices for a fresh, healthier take!
Serves: Makes 8 servings
Prep Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cup(s) plain Greek yogurt
- Splenda, stevia, or agave (to taste)
- 1 1/3 cup(s) 100% pineapple juice (no sugar added)
- 1 1/3 cup(s) 100% orange juice (no sugar added)
- 4 oz. popsicle mold
Method:
- Add sweetener to Greek yogurt to taste, mix well.
- Divide yogurt evenly among the 8 popsicle molds
- Add orange juice, evenly divided among 8 popsicle molds
- Top with pineapple juice
- Insert popsicle stick (use wooden popsicle sticks if not included with mold)
- Place in freezer until solid

Halloween Monster Bites
These monster-themed snacks are a spooky delight! With slivered almonds as teeth + healthy, natural peanut butter inside, these are sure to be a favorite for the little ones in the house. Plus, they’re as fun to make as they are to eat!
Serves: Makes 12 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 granny smith apple, cored and cut into quarters
- 1 1/2 cup(s) natural creamy almond butter
- 1/4 cup(s) slivered almonds
- 12 chocolate chips
- 12 natural mini marshmallows
Method:

Cut a wedge in the apples through the skin to make the mouth (don’t cut all the way through!)

Fill apples with natural almond butter to taste

Place almond slivers along the cut edge, pushing them into the fruit to make teeth

Dab peanut butter on top of the apple and stick on a marshmallow

Dab peanut butter onto the back of a chocolate chip + stick to marshmallow to make eyes

Frozen Banana Mummies + Scary Hairy Things
Especially great for families who worry about food-sensitivities, this quick recipe creates adorable mummies + monsters that can put your mind at ease. They might even be a great trading tool when it comes to getting your kids to swap for their unsafe or cross-contaminated candy options after a long night of candy hunting!
Serves: Makes 12-15 mummies
Prep Time: 3-4 hours
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons food-grade cocoa butter
- “Safe” chocolate chips or raisins
- 3 tablespoons powdered coconut sugar or sweetener
- 12-15 lollipop sticks
- 3 large bananas
- 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
Method:
Bananas:
- Peel + slice the bananas into 1-1/2″ chunks
- Skewer with lollipop sticks
- Place on parchment/wax paper lined baking sheet
- Freeze
Candy Coating:
- Gently melt cocoa butter
- Mix in coconut sugar/sweetener of choice
Banana Mummy:
- Spoon a drop of candy coating on a frozen banana and stick on a raisin eye (or two, or four)
- Drizzle candy coating over the bananas in all directions using a spoon, avoiding the eye(s)
Scary Hairy Things:
- Toast the coconut at 325°F for 5-10 minutes, stirring every few minutes
- Attach raisin eyes to each piece of frozen banana with a dot of candy coating
- Avoiding the eyes, drizzle candy coating on to coat front
- Sprinkle with toasted coconut
- Drizzle candy coating on back, sprinkle with toasted coconut
- Repeat coat + sprinkle for top
It helps to work in small sections like this because the candy coating freezes so quickly.

Almond Butter Mini-Cups 2.0
Cutting out candy completely is almost out of the question on Halloween, but that doesn’t mean you have to settle for store-bought options! With Reese’s holding the worldwide #3 spot for top-selling candy bars, we couldn’t let you go without showing you a better way to enjoy these timeless favorites!
Makes: Makes 12 mini-cups
Prep Time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
- 8-9 ounces of unsweetened dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/2 cup organic unsalted almond butter
- 1 tablespoon ground chia seeds (you can just grind whole chia seeds in a coffee grinder or Magic Bullet)
- 1 tsp. fine grain sea salt
- Natural maple syrup, to taste (optional)
Method:
Almond Butter Mixture:
- Heat almond butter until fluid and loose
- Mix in ground chia seed, pinch of sea salt, and maple syrup (optional) to taste
Chocolate Cups:
- Very lightly grease a non-stick mini-muffin pan with coconut oil (or use ungreased silicon candy mold
- Melt dark chocolate with coconut oil
- Whisk together, remove from the heat
- Add in maple syrup to taste
- Add 1-2 tsp. of the chocolate mixture to each cup, swirl to coat the sides evenly
- Place in freezer until set
10-15 minutes later:
- Pull tray out of freezer, add 1 teaspoon of almond butter filling to each cup
- Spread remaining melted chocolate over the top, covering cups
- Sprinkle remaining sea salt on top of each cup
- Place the muffin tin back into the freezer to allow the chocolate to harden (30 minutes) then remove from molds
Enjoy!
While you may not eliminate all of the extra sugar in the house this weekend, having healthy Halloween favorites on hand can help cut down on the amount. Who knows, you might even create a healthy Halloween tradition with a little extra creativity!
